Minister Janice Preston
Minister Preston has a heart for God’s people. Her desire is to create authentic relationships through encouraging, empowering and equipping believers with the word of God.
In her speech, “How the Sisters are Hindered from Helping,” Nannie Helen Burroughs said, “I am Somebody.”
Through her educational pursuit and her passion for ministry, Minister Preston is "somebody" as well. Most of all she has positioned herself as a woman that incites and inspires change in others. In addition, reminding them that they are somebody too.

the brokenness from their past to hinder their growth.
As a published author, motivational speaker and
Minister, she has worked faithfully in Ministry for many years in numerous leadership roles.
Her book, “I’ve Got Issues But I’m Covered!” offers biblical advice, guidance and direction for women to change the trajectory of their lives based on God’s word.
Minister Preston established and developed the “Still I Rise Empowerment Series” at Macedonia Baptist Church which focuses on real-life issues (i.e., depression, mental health, suicidal ideation, domestic violence) faced by women daily. Minister Preston has dedicated her life to serving others through various charities and non-profit organizations and continues her endeavor to encourage, empower and equip woman to embrace the ashes that God will turn into beauty.
Minister Preston was licensed to preach the Good News of Jesus Christ in May, 2012 under the Pastorate of Dr. Leonard L. Hamlin, Sr. at Macedonia Baptist Church, Arlington, VA.
Minister Preston attended Trinity College in Washington, DC and went on to graduate with honors from Lancaster Bible College and Capital Bible Seminary, through the satellite office in Greenbelt, MD, in 2014 receiving a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, with a concentration in Biblical Studies. She is currently a candidate in the Master of Divinity program at Howard University. Minister Preston is especially fond of her family.
