Connecting with God begins with salvation through Jesus Christ. 1 John 5:13 tells us, “I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.” God wants us to not only have a relationship with Him, but to also receive and understand salvation. God wants us to have the confidence of knowing for sure that we are saved.

The key points of salvation:

  1. The Problem
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23 NIV

As humans beings, we ALL have a problem and that problem is sin. Everyone has sinned. There is no one who is perfect, except Jesus and that is why we need Him in our lives.

  2. The Penalty
“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:23 NIV

There is a penalty for our sin.  That penalty is death. We deserve to go to hell for our sins. But if we accept the free gift of eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord, WE ARE FORGIVEN for our sins, and do not receive the penalty of death, which is eternal life in hell.

  3. The Provision
“But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8 NIV

In His great love, God gave us a provision for the salvation of sinners. God proves just how much He loves us by allowing His perfect Son to die for imperfect people like you and I.

  4. The Promise
“That if you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord' and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” Romans 10:9 NIV

God made a promise (and God does not lie) that: If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, you are confessing that He is now “in control of your life and first in your life”. You are not in control anymore.  You are giving up your control to God.  Believing in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead, means to accept that He is alive, and that He is not just Lord over your life now, but Lord overall.

That is the message of salvation! If you have placed your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, you are saved! All of your sins are forgiven, and God promises to never leave you or forsake you (Romans 8:38-39; Matthew 28:20). Remember, your salvation is secure in Jesus Christ (John 10:28-29). If you are trusting in Jesus alone as your Lord and Savior, you can have confidence that you will spend eternity with God in heaven!

If you desire to connect with God and receive salvation right now, pray this prayer:

God, I come to you in the name of Jesus, confessing that I am a sinner in need of your saving Grace and Mercy.  I repent and turn from my sin and give my life to you.  I confess with my mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in my heart that Jesus died for my sins on the cross, and was raised from the dead just for me. By faith, I invite you into my heart, as Lord and Savior.  So, here I am Lord, with all of my faults and all of my weaknesses.  Take me now and fill me with your Holy Spirit and make me to be the person you have created me to be.  According to Your Word, Romans 10:9, I am saved!  I am Saved!  I am always Saved!  In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Congratulations and welcome to the Kingdom!

"Now that I'm Saved..."

Now that you have connected with God and placed your faith in Jesus Christ, we strongly encourage you first to find a Bible-believing church in your area and speak to the pastor. Let him or her know about your new faith in Jesus Christ. It is very important that believers fellowship with one another. The church is more than a building, the church is the people. So make that connection today! In fact, connect with Chosen and Covered!

Second, we encourage you to be Baptized. Baptism is the Biblical way of publicly proclaiming your faith in Jesus Christ and your commitment to follow Him. Being baptized is identifying yourself with Jesus' death, burial, and resurrection (Romans 6:3-4).
